25 years of specialist conferences, expert exchange and training
This year's honorary award of the society was given to the former president of the DGHT e.V., Prof. Dr. H. Wehner, to whom we owe, among other things, the current good status of our society and his personal and tireless commitment to the cause on behalf of all our patients.
We thank him as well as we request to continue to stand by our side in the future.
After the successful initiation of the DGHT award last year, we are pleased to once again honor personalities from practice, science and technology who have made a special contribution to hyperthermia. The hand-over by the President of the DGHT, Prof. Dr. H. Wehner took place on September 30th at the VIII. Hyperthermia Symposium.
At this point I would like to once again thank the current winners, Stefan Heckel-Reusser, Prof. Dr. medical Peter Wust and Dr. medical Wulf-Peter Brockmann for her efforts in the field of hyperthermia.
The prize, which is endowed with a total of 1,500 euros and donated this year by the gisunt clinic for integrative medicine, was awarded to three personalities who have made a special contribution to hyperthermia in the fields of research, application and technology.
With the award of Professor Peter Vaupel, Doctor Friedrich Douwes and Doctor Alexander von Ardenne, the specialist society was able to honor three of the most deserving personalities from these categories for their commitment to hyperthermia. The prize is awarded for the next three years. So we can look forward to the 8th Hyperthermia Congress on September 30, 2017 in Berlin, where the DGHT Award will be presented again.
Harvard Award to Doctor Douwes
Congratulations to Doctor Friedrich Douwes, who recently received a certificate of recognition from Harvard University Boston for his research and insights into the use of hyperthermia in Lyme disease. Moreover, the award supports and spreads our method – also internationally.
